Hunlock Creek is a small unincorporated community located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated along the Susquehanna River, and is named after a dam that was once used to create "locks" for transporting lumber down the river. The village is part of the Hunlock Creek Township, and is served by the Northwest Area School District. The population of Hunlock Creek is approximately 2,000 people. The area is known for its rural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities, particularly fishing, boating, and hiking. The community hosts an annual summer fair, known as the Hunlock Creek Volunteer Fire Company's July Jubilee.
